Hi sweet blog friends!
I posted briefly about how Caylin’s Cure is switching gears a bit a few weeks ago, but we finally have a new direct donation link all ready to go so I wanted to mention it again. We raised (thanks to all of you) almost $2200 for JDRF! Isn’t that amazing?!? Thank you! Seriously! Thank you!! After doing some research I honestly feel as though it was fate and God that lead me to this wonderful doctor named Dr. Denise Faustman and her team who are making AMAZING strides in Type 1 diabetes research at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is awesome. She has won numerous awards, has reversed type 1 in mice and she is doing all of her research without using embryonic stem cells, which is what my family and I prefer.
JDRF has really done some wonderful things and have helped my family and daughter and for that I am truly thankful, but from this point forward ALL donations to Caylin’s Cure are going to The Faustman Lab and their “Cure Diabetes Now” fund.” I am EXCITED! Dr. Faustman is now raising money to begin Phase II BCG human clinical trial in type 1 diabetes and so we are happy to help with that so that we can find a cure for type 1.
If you would like to know more about the research they are doing there you can click HERE to read more. Thank you again to everyone who has donated to Caylin’s Cure so far and all of those who will donate in the future. EVERYONE who has donated and will donate is still entered to win so many awesome prizes for every $10 you donate. I will be getting daily reports from the hospital with the donations and donor information so that I can be sure you are entered to win the prizes. We have so many amazing prizes up for grabs, including the iPad2 (32g). We will still do the prize drawing this Fall so keep those donations coming and please help in spreading the word. If you posted a Caylin’s Cure blog button on your blog – you can go to the website to grab a new one! Thank you!
My family and I appreciate it so much! The blogging community and especially all of the wonderful scrapbookers, crafters, card makers and stampers have been so wonderful. I told my husband that you all have such BIG generous and kind hearts and I was right. He thinks you all are pretty darn amazing, too. ;)
Be on the lookout on my blog for more really cool auctions, more prizes added to the fundraiser and there is even a new donation link so that you can directly give to the Cure Diabetes Now Fund that Caylin’s Cure is teaming up with so that your donations are ALL tax-deductible. How awesome is that? Click HERE to check out the Caylin’s Cure fundraising website and click HERE to donate.
Thank you all SO much from the bottom of my heart. I will be back with more soon – including an auction that benefits Caylin’s Cure, a sneak peek at the pretty grey my hubby painted my studio last weekend AND some other cool news! Lots going on at one happy mama! Oh and I’m just two away from 600 followers! Awesome! I’d love for you to follow my blog if you don’t already! Just click over on the FOLLOW button! :-D
Oh, and just because I feel like no blog post is complete without a photo – here’s one for you:
Baby toes AND a baby laugh. Now THAT is pure sweetness. Sigh. He is growing up SO fast. Can you believe he’s 8 months already? Gotta post months 4-8 on the blog. I’m SO behind. That’s on my to-do list. ;)
BIG hugs to you all! I’ll be back soon!
