I have loved Veggie Tales for a long time. I can remember my niece when she was little loving all of the videos and songs and now that I’m a Mom, I love how my children love Veggie Tales, too. Honestly, even if I didn’t have children, I would still be a huge fan. ;)
We have A LOT of Veggie Tales DVD’s and A LOT of the super cute Veggie Tales songs (Silly Songs with Larry are our favorite) and I am just SO thankful that there are movies out there like this that teach our children GOOD morals and incorporate lessons from the Bible as well. Such a wonderful idea and so cool to see Caylin learning so much and being entertained at the same time.
When Caylin got a cold a couple of weeks ago – I wanted to cheer her up so I bought her one of the newer Veggie Tales DVD’s, “Princess and the Popstar.” She LOVED it! She now knows ALL of the songs and has probably watched it going on 25 times already. LOL. Here’s a little recap of what the movie is about:
“Princess Poppyseed’s life on her family’s farm is far from the glamorous world of her favorite pop singer Vanna Banana. While Princess milks the cows and dreams of a life on stage, Vanna has her own dreams of a life far from the hectic pace of stardom that leaves her feeling alone and lonely. On a chance meeting at a playground, Vanna and Princess cross paths and realize they look almost exactly alike, which leads to the crazy notion that maybe they could switch lives! In a flash, the girls’ secret plan is launched and Princess is whisked to her new life as a pop star while Vanna gets to live her dream of a life away from the pressure of fame! As Princess tries to live up to the demands of being a diva and Vanna learns how to milk the cows, things don’t go as smoothly as they would like! As each girl realizes the life they longed for doesn’t fulfill all their dreams, they learn that the life God gave them is the one for which they were uniquely and lovingly designed.”
My daughter has also performed the Vanna Banana songs for us and our entire family as well – it’s super cute. Big Idea Entertainment – the studio and producer of all things Veggie Tales is located right here in Middle Tennessee. Last week, I thought it would be a good time to finally email them to just thank them and let them know how appreciative I am for such wonderful movies, songs and shows for my children. I wanted to encourage them to continue God’s work and let them know just how much Caylin loves the newest DVD.
I was so excited when sweet Shannon, the Senior Manager of Partnerships and Publicity at Big Idea Entertainment said that she’d love to give me both a copy of the DVD to giveaway here on my blog! How cool is that? I was thrilled and so happy that one of my sweet blog readers will win that sweet movie and music.

September 30, 2011 at 3:52 pmTo be honest we have never watched Veggie Tales. My 16 month old loves any sort of cartoon, mainly Cat in the Hat or Dinosaur Train, but Veggie Tales is a new one. I’d love this to introduce it to her though!
