A couple weeks ago, I was informed that I had won a super cute book called, “The Super, Incredible Big Sister” from the blog one of my MOST favorite artists – Jill McDonald. I was SO excited! I couldn’t wait to get it in the mail. Well, last Friday I received the book in the mail and it was even cuter than I had imagined. Jill illustrated the book and the colors, fonts and graphics are so adorable. The awesome thing about the book is that the sweet people at I See Me Inc,. where the book is published, customize the book with your children’s names and so it makes it so personal and Caylin LOVED it!
How sweet is the dedication in the book? Love how you can add that as well! Such a sweet touch!
I thought I would surprise Caylin with it and just told her that night that I was going to read her a book and grabbed it and we got cozy on the bed and when I pulled it out and started reading it, her eyes got REALLY big and she smiled. She couldn’t believe her name was on the cover and throughout the book. She commented on how the little blonde girl looked like her and the little baby looked like Jack, too! She loved it! The sweet book even comes with a medal that her Daddy and I presented to her after we had read the book! She wore it with pride and continued to wear it throughout the weekend. ;)
I really love the sweet, gentle beauty this book possesses. It’s filled with super cute illustrations and thoughtful, encouraging words. It’s the perfect book to give as a gift to a friend who is adding a second child to the family or to give to your child when they become a big brother or big sister. It can be a hard transition for the once only child and it definitely puts the spotlight on them and makes them feel as special as we know they are! I can’t recommend this book enough! I might have gotten this first one for free, but I would definitely purchase another one of these books to give as a gift in the future. They also have, “The Super, Incredible Big Brother” book. :) You can click HERE to get a virtual tour of the book and to find out how to order one for your child or for a gift.
This definitely is one of those feel-good books that you’ll read to your child every night. Oh, and just a heads up – the medal will likely become a permanent part of your child’s wardrobe, too.
