Recently I was kindly asked to write a guest blog post for the blog, Wishing Well, which is a blog that is put together by local doctors, nurses, parents, researchers and others from Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, here in Nashville. I wrote on the topic of Caylin’s Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis. I’d love it if you’d head on over there and read it. You can find it HERE.
Tomorrow it will be two years since Caylin’s diagnosis. I have a lot emotions when I think back to that day, but instead of dwelling on those I am going to remember how blessed I feel to have here her and how thankful I am for modern medicine and technology today that allows her to continue to have a healthy, happy life. She is such a light in my life. I love her SO much and I am just so proud of her and the bravery that she possesses. I admire her. We will be celebrating her and doing fun things that she wants to do. I’m pretty sure it involves buying a new Barbie and eating pizza. ;)
I am also so very thankful for her wonderful doctors, nurses and staff that have helped us along the way and also the wonderful people who have come into our lives because of diabetes.
The past two years have had it’s ups and downs, but that’s life, isn’t it? We are blessed and Caylin is such a bright spot in this world. I’m just so very thankful her light is still shining … she has so much to offer this world. Love you, sweet baby bird. ♥
