Today makes 2 years since Caylin was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.
We’re spending the day doing fun family stuff that Caylin wants to do and of course it also involves eating pizza (her favorite) and picking out a new Barbie. :)
I just wanted to share this little memory from that day.
That night, after leaving Michael and Caylin at the hospital (Caylin spent a day or so in the pediatric intensive care unit) I was driving back to our house with Jack who was only 4 months old at the time. I wasn’t able to stay at the hospital because Jack was so little, so Michael stayed with her. It was SO hard leaving them that night. I shed many tears that night driving home. I was scared, so worried for my daughter and just praying for God to give me peace and help us through this.
A song by Brandon Heath came on the radio. It was called, “Your love.” It was just what I needed that night on that long, dark, scary and lonely drive home. It was a great reminder that God was with us. He always is and always will be. He was putting His arms around me that night and telling me it was going to be ok.
Now every time I hear this song I’m taken back to that night. It’s hard to go back there, but I love this song and what it stands for.
God’s love IS enough.
