Hi sweet blog readers!
I have a treat for you today or at least I hope you think it’s a treat! Ha! ;) I thought I would do something a bit different today and so I recorded a little video of the Project Life album that I put together for my daughter. I know that I have shared some photos with you all here on my blog, but since it’s finished, I wanted to go over the whole thing with you guys and I thought this would be the easiest route to take instead of posting a ton of photos. :)
So this is PART ONE of the video series. Just a warning: please excuse my dorkiness. This is really my first video of this kind so I’m a bit rusty and well, honestly I have no idea what I am doing, but I do hope you get a better insight on how I created the album, why I created it and just how easy it was to put together.
If you have any questions regarding anything that you see in the video, just leave me a comment and I will get back to you as soon as possible and like always – leave me a link to your Project Life pages this week – I’d love to check them out!
Thanks so much! Enjoy! I hope you do and if nothing else, you’ll get a kick out of my dorkiness. Ha! ;)
Oh, and a couple of notes about the video:
- Yes, I say “um” a lot. LOL. I tried to catch myself, but it’s just one of those things. :)
- I also sound out of breath at times and well – just so you know – I’m 31 weeks pregnant and I feel like this baby is up in my chest. Ha!
- My tripod for my camera needs some oil or something – that sucker liked to squeak a bit when I moved it. ;)
- The video is about 15 minutes long so you may have to watch it in batches or on your lunch break. I tried to go as fast as I could and condense it as much as I could, but let’s face it – I ramble and like to go on and on, especially if it’s about something I love, like Project Life. :)
Ok, you’ve been warned! Enjoy! Let me know what you think and if you have any questions!
- I’m also linking up to The Mom Creative’s Project Life Tuesday HERE!

June 18, 2013 at 8:51 amIt’s a beautiful album so far! Really enjoyed seeing you go through it and hearing your comments, love the video. I will say though, that it kept freezing up and your voice would go on, but the picture wouldn’t. That might just be my computer though? Can’t wait to see the 2nd installment!

June 18, 2013 at 8:53 amThanks for your sweet comment, Kim! Sorry that the video kept freezing on you. I was able to watch it on my blog without that happening, but you just never know. Going to definitely make it shorter next time. ;) I’ll get better as I do them and find the best way to make them, etc. Thanks again! Hugs!

June 18, 2013 at 9:15 amHi there! I’m visiting from The Mom Creative. Love the video! It’s so fun to watch you flip through the pages and hear your comments. I really like how you included some of your old layouts and that you weren’t super strict about going chronologically. I did a birth timeline in both of my boys’ baby albums too. ;) Thanks for sharing! I’m looking forward to the next video! :)

June 18, 2013 at 9:21 amHi Jenny! Thank you so much! You are so sweet! So happy you enjoyed it! Yay for doing the timelines, too! Aren’t those fun to look back on? Love it! Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs!

June 18, 2013 at 11:39 amAlright. This is fantastic! As I started watching, I kept saying, “Ohhh I love that!” and “what a great idea!” (the paint sample you included, for example). I adore this album, K and how lucky is Caylin to have it? It’s simple, but SO meaningful and beautiful. I love it!! I loved your video format, too! Miss you!! And I do believe I will be stealing your idea for how you did the “month milestone” section. It’s awesome!! YOU are awesome and so inspiring! Love you, bestie! :)

June 18, 2013 at 1:02 pmThis is just wonderful, and I so appreciate it in video form! I know it’s a lot of work…but it helps so much when someone shows what they have done and talk you through it. Love love love it Kristina!!!!

June 18, 2013 at 1:09 pmAw, thank you, Heather! How sweet of you! I’m SO happy that you enjoyed it! Even if just one person is inspired by it – it’s worth the work to me! I believe in Project Life so much! LOVE sharing how I do it and what works for me! Hugs to you! :)

June 18, 2013 at 7:07 pmI think you did a great job with this video! It sounds like you and I had similar PL journeys. I didn’t have anything to redo, but I discovered PL in April and have since gone back and done my whole daughter’s life. Her first year album looks very similar to yours and I got lots of ideas for more stuff to include in mine. :) One idea, I used the Blush dividers to mark out her ages.
Can’t wait for the next installments.

June 18, 2013 at 8:20 pmgreat album. I have few 12×12 scrapbook layouts for the first two of my kidlets but #3 doesn’t have any. I am going to do a PL style album for each of them and will definitely include the original scrapbook layouts in there. PL will certainly speed up the process of getting their albums done. I love how you incorporated the old embellishments from pages you did not keep.

June 19, 2013 at 4:28 pmKristina, this is fabulous! What a special gift you’ve made for your daughter! THANK YOU for taking the time to record a video. Seeing the photos alone is nice, but the videos add so much information! I’m sending this link to my daughter-in-law who’s working on a baby boy album for my grandson. Can’t wait to see the next two videos! Thanks again!!

June 20, 2013 at 12:54 pmThank you so much for sharing the video! The album is beautiful! Can you share what type of pens you use for journaling? I love that they seem a little thicker than the typical pens.

June 20, 2013 at 5:32 pmHi Jacqueline! Thank you so much for watching the video and for leaving such a sweet comment! I appreciate it! The type of pen that I’m using is actually a fine tip black Sharpie marker. It’s one of my favorites that I use a lot! :) I also love the American Crafts Precision pens as well, but the one you’re talking about is the Sharpie. Yep, those are my ABSOLUTE favorites. I hoard those. LOL! Thanks again for your comment! Hugs!

June 25, 2013 at 12:32 pmKristina,
This is wonderful! You made such a beautiful album! My son is 5 months old and I have yet to begin his album. I purchased the boy version of the baby project life back in January and LOVE it! You have inspired me to get going!!!!
Thank you!!!

June 25, 2013 at 12:34 pmHow did you print or size your 2×3 pictures? I find that part to be time consuming. I edit in Picasso by selecting two pictures to go on a 4×6 print but its such a long process.
Your album is beautiful and I love how you just put your pictures in order but no pressure to be by week or month. It flowed beautiful and inspired me to finally do my daughters. TFS

June 25, 2013 at 12:59 pmReally enjoyed this video! I’m 27 weeks pregnant and determined to get my first born’s album done before #2 arrives. Great inspiration. And glad to know someone else is out of breath too!

June 25, 2013 at 6:38 pmHi! This video is so inspiring… I don’t even have any children yet, but I can not wait until the day I can start a baby album!!! I started my own daily project life album this year, and I love it. I have just one question: will you keep this album or will you eventually give it to your daughter? Is it selfish to want to keep the album for the memories and not pass it on? Congratulations on your pregnancy.

July 9, 2013 at 6:55 pmThanks for sharing the video of your daughter’s album. I want to put together a similar album for each of my kids so watching your video gave me lots of ideas on how to get started with the project.
