Today’s list I’m sharing is my list of things I want to do this year. I wouldn’t call them resolutions – just maybe some goals I wish to achieve. Yeah, that sounds good. :)
- Read the Bible from the beginning to end in its entirety in one year : Off to a good start now. Thankful for a group of sweet ladies I’m on that journey with this year.
- Learn how to take better photographs : I don’t want to just point my camera and shoot. Nope. Time to learn what all my camera can do and then DO IT.
- Cook more : We’ve already done so much better eating at home and not going out. I love to cook, just not that good at it and I hate the mess afterwards. Ha! Thankful for a messy kitchen because that means I’ve been in it more – cooking!
- Expand the products in my shop, Baby Bird & Bub Bub : I’ve got some sweet little plans in the making. Excited and nervous at the same time!
- Learn more about Illustrator : Doing great so far! Last week I learned four new things that I can do with that awesome program and I’m putting them to use! Feels good!
- Give up sugar : Right now I’m on a 21-day sugar fast. By sugar – I mean all of that processed, no-good-for-you sugar – think candy, cupcakes, cake, pie, sugary beverages, etc. I am able to eat fruit and baked goods made with honey, coconut milk, etc. I’m on Day 8 and I’m not going to lie – for this sweets lover it is HARD. I can do it. I can do it. I can do it. Pray for me. Thankfully no one has been strangled yet.
- Exercise more : Yep, gotta just work being more active into my daily routine. NOT an easy task seeing as how it’s hard to get a shower in nowadays.
- Do my hair more : Messy buns and messy pony tails are cute, but not THAT cute. Gotta actually take the time to blow dry my hair and style it more.
- Take my vitamins & probiotics EVERY day : I’m good most days, but want it to become second nature to do it at the same time EVERY day. :)
There you have it. So exciting, I know! LOL! List #2!

January 13, 2014 at 11:48 amThe sugar thing gets easier – I did that for Lent last year and couldn’t believe how many things had added sugar. Garbanzo beans was the shocker for me…. really? Why add sugar to a can of beans. It’s hidden everywhere! In my experience, clearing it from my body was one of the best things I’ve ever done and in the long run, it changed my relationship with food in a way that now I avoid sugar because the craving/struggling/giving in/guilt/craving cycle just isn’t worth it. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

January 13, 2014 at 7:58 pmThank you so much for the encouragement, Cathy! I appreciate it! I have wanted some sugar SO bad today. Ack! I’m not going to give in though! I’m stubborn! ;) Thank you again! Hugs!!
