Having boys was something totally new to me. In fact, it was new to my entire family since Jack was the first boy in the family (I come from a family of four girls and a niece and then Caylin so yep, Jack was the first boy. We even had all girl dogs, LOL). I have to admit, I was worried that I wouldn’t know what to do with a boy, LOL! After having Jack, I fell so head over heels for him and loved being a Mama to a boy. When I got pregnant with Luke I wasn’t really pulling for either a boy or a girl since I already had one of each. Just like usual, my main concern was for the baby to be healthy.
When we went for the gender ultrasound and the tech said it was a boy, I was SO happy! I was going to be a Mama to TWO boys. How cool is that? It has been the perfect blessing because Jack and Luke are closer in age and Caylin is like a second little Mama to them both. I’ve loved being able to pass down Jack’s baby toys and clothes to Luke. What a money-saver that is! ;)
Lately I have been watching Jack and Luke develop such a cool, sweet bond that I know is only going to be growing stronger and closer as they get older. I’m so glad that they are going to have one another to get rough and tumble with (so they can wear one another out), play Ninja Turtles, take karate classes together and team up to drive their sister crazy. Ok, Caylin’s not too thrilled about that last one, but she knows it’s inevitable. Ha! ;)
It’s going to be a wild, crazy ride with them both that I’m sure will give me extra grey hair, but I’m just so thankful that God allowed me to also be a Mama to two sweet boys. What an unexpected, precious gift.
Yep, they are going to get into a bit of trouble together, I’m sure of it, but they’re both totally worth it.
Grey hair and all. ;)
