Hi y’all!
You guys know that I love photographs and I love being able to put photographs up in my house everywhere, especially some of my most favorite photos. You probably already also know that I love canvases and have quite a few of them in my home.
With that said, I was excited to review a canvas from another company that contacted me a couple of weeks ago. I know many of you love your photographs too and buying canvases to display them on your walls in your home.
The canvas I reviewed was from Canvas Champ.
UPDATE:
After reading my first review, the folks at Canvas Champ contacted me and wanted to apologize for the not-so-good experience that I had with their company. They wanted to make things right because they said my experience was NOT the typical experience that people usually have with them. I agreed to let them try to make things right and so they sent me another 12×8 canvas. This time I chose a different photograph and received it yesterday in the mail.
I’m happy to say that this canvas was what I was expecting from them all along. The condition of it was excellent. The black and white quality was awesome – what I have seen from other great canvas companies as well, so I’m glad they took my concerns to heart and did something about them. Canvas Champ did not ask for me to update this review, but I felt that it was only fair to let my readers know that they did fix their mistakes, take responsibility for the quality that was not up to par and have made changes to resolve those, which I think says a lot about a company. So, I haven’t written off Canvas Champ completely. I honestly think maybe there was a misunderstanding of some sort now regarding the second canvas that I received. I’m thinking that maybe the customer service rep I was speaking to might have thought I was OK with the second canvas, even though I was not. I think it was good of them to do the right thing even when they didn’t think they’d get publicly recognized for that. That does say a lot. Just another reason why I decided that it would be fair to update this review. Thanks again to Canvas Champ for the beautiful canvas.. Third time’s the charm! ;)
Below is the first review that I did on Canvas Champ:
I was sent an 12×8 canvas to review and about 5 days after ordering it, it was delivered to me.
The first thing that I noticed right away was that the way it was packaged for mailing wasn’t very good. The canvases I have ordered in the past have come in good-sized boxes and were packaged to protect the canvas where as this canvas was packaged very tightly and wrapped in shrink wrap and then put in a box about the same size of the canvas which made removing the canvas from the box pretty difficult. I was super worried about damaging my canvas just removing it from the packaging it was mailed in. I didn’t like that.
Thankfully I was able to get it out of the box it came in, but was pretty bummed that there were some white specks on my canvas in about four areas. These were noticeable and looked like it occurred during the printing process.
I know that things can happen and so I contacted Canvas Champ to tell them about it and see if they would send me another canvas. They requested I take pictures of the canvas and so I did and was then told that they would send me another one to review.
About 4 days later I got ANOTHER 12×8 canvas from them and once again it was difficult to remove from the box it was shipped in and once again, unfortunately, there was something on the canvas. This time it was a black spot and it was located on a lighter spot on my canvas so it, as well, was noticeable and bugged me. I didn’t want to waste another canvas though and so I decided to use a few heart epoxy stickers from the July OHDEERME embellishment kit from Freckled Fawn to cover up that black dot so that it was salvageable.
I’m super disappointed that I received TWO canvases and both had issues. Although the customer service was good and helped me in a timely manner and they sent me another one to correct the mistakes of the first one, having a second one sent to me that wasn’t the best quality was not good and frustrating.
I do love the 12×8 size that they offer, but there’s not much else good that I can say about it, unfortunately, other than I love the photograph that I used and I’m happy I was able to salvage the canvas because it would have been a huge waste to just throw it away like I had to with the first one.
Bottom line: I think their quality isn’t up to speed and the way they ship their canvases needs to be improved upon greatly. I do appreciate the opportunity that I was given to receive a free canvas to review, but I just wish their quality was better. I’m surprised they didn’t care that my second canvas had something on it as well (I let them know after I received it and was told to just go ahead and review what I had), but since I’m only able to review what I’ve received, I wouldn’t recommend going with Canvas Champ for your canvas printing needs.
I am fortunate to be able to review a lot of products here on my blog and I have even reviewed a couple of other canvas companies. I think it’s super important to share with you guys the quality of the things that I review because you are spending your hard earned money on them, so with EVERY thing I review I consider that and only give you honest and accurate thoughts when doing so. No one likes to give a negative review about something, but this review is honest and I think it’s important that you all know that. I apologize to Canvas Champ, but I hope this constructive criticism about their product will help them make some changes that obviously need to be made. This is the first product I’ve reviewed that I’ve had to be negative about and although it wasn’t easy to write, it was necessary to be honest and stay true to the integrity of myself and my blog.
- Disclosure: Canvas Champ sent me the above canvas to review. All thoughts and opinions of this product are solely my own.

February 22, 2015 at 5:47 pmONE UNHAPPY PAPA!!!!!!!!!
They were a complete and total disaster. They were unable to place an order even after 4 phone calls, and 2 confirmatory emails. The reason is as old as time. You get what you pay for. The Indian CS personnel also complicated this mess, by no doing what they promised.
STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM THEM – there are plenty of other who know what they are doing.

May 15, 2015 at 12:32 pmI just had a terrible experience with them. They approved the image I sent to them and we proceeded with a 30×20 canvas. I received it and it was really well packed, a bit difficult to get into but I appreciated the effort they took to protect the canvas. My immediate reaction was this image did not look crisp. In fact it was blurry in 2 corners. When I contacted them about returning this for a smaller size canvas, I was told that unless they did something wrong there is essentially no return/refunds. All I wanted was to send the 30×20 back and get a smaller size printed. I was of course expecting the difference in charge refunded. NOPE, I re-read their website and could not find any place that indicates they do not offer returns or refunds. Unfortunately I had already placed an order for another canvas BEFORE the 1st one arrived and I’m not looking forward to it. Poor Poor Poor customer service. NOT a happy camper

May 17, 2015 at 11:03 amSorry you had a bad experience with them, Diana. As you can see from my review, I was less than impressed myself, honestly. Sending you hugs and praying that second canvas turns out good! XOXO!

December 23, 2016 at 5:20 pmI wish I had looked for reviews of CanvasChamp.com BEFORE putting in an order with them. This has been the worst nightmare shopping experience of all time!
First off, it is important for you to know that I live near Atlanta, Georgia in the United States.
I am an artist and I placed an order for 10 canvas prints of a painted portrait of my mother to give the prints to family members as Christmas gifts. Two of the prints were 8 X 10’s and the other 8 were 5 X 7’s. The order was placed the day before Thanksgiving.
A couple of weeks later I received a package from Canvas Champ that only contained one 8 X 10 and one 5 X 7. It was packaged the same way several others have described on this site; home made looking box fit to the EXACT size of the prints with lots and lots of plastic wrap.
When I called them and gave them the order number they had given me for my order and asked where my other 8 prints were, I was told that the order number I gave them was for only two prints. I had to insist that I paid for ten prints and I wanted the other eight as soon as possible. I explained that these were Christmas gifts and was assured that the other eight prints would arrive in time for me to get them to my family for Christmas.
You are not going to believe what happened next. After waiting a few days I contacted Canvas Champ to get a tracking number for my order so I could find out when it would be delivered. I was shocked to discover that the destination address for my package was in England! When I brought this fact to the attention of Canvas Champ I was told, “We are so sorry, Mam. Your order has been mis-directed. Don’t worry, Mam, we will contact DHL and have your package re-directed to your correct address and the package will arrive before Christmas.”
Then I was CC’d on several emails between Canvas Champ and DHL to try to correct the mistake that Canvas Champ made by putting the wrong address label on my order. The last such email was from DHL to Canvas Champ informing them that it was not possible to redirect the package as it had already been delivered to the destination address (in England.)
We are now down to a less than a week before Christmas and I called Canvas Champ again and told them I wanted my eight missing prints reprinted and sent to me as soon as possible. They again said, “We are so sorry, Mam. Don’t worry we will rush the printing and send your order priority and have the prints to you before Christmas. We will call you with a tracking number within 48 hours.
They did not call me within 48 hours so I called them and was given a tracking number. I asked if this was a DHL tracking number since that is how they sent the package that went to England by mistake and the customer service rep said, “yes.”
I tracked the package with DHL that evening and again the next morning and there was no record of that tracking number so I called Canvas Champ once again. This time I discovered that the rep who told me it was a DHL tracking number was mistaken as it was in fact a FedEx tracking number.
This morning (December 23rd) I tracked the package and it said it was in Atlanta but was not scheduled for delivery until December 28th. This is most unusual as I live less than 20 miles from Atlanta.
I called FedEx to find out if the package is now in Atlanta, less than 20 miles from where I live why is it not scheduled for delivery until December 28th? I could not believe the answer. I was told that the shipper (Canvas Champ) asked for a commitment delivery date of December 28th. What is wrong with these people? Why would they PROMISE that my package would get to me before Christmas and then ask FedEx to hold the package up for 6 days when it is less than 20 miles from my house? Unbelievable!!!
So, I am back on the phone with Canvas Champ trying to find out if they even know when Christmas is and telling them that I am very unhappy with what has happened up to this point. The rep put me on hold while he called FedEx and when he came back on the phone he said, “Don’t worry, Mam. Your package is on a truck on its way to you and will be delivered today.”
Thankfully it was delivered later that afternoon. I am amazed how they could fit 8 canvas prints into such a small space! Again, it was in a home made looking box; actually a better description than “box” is that it was wrapped in cardboard and then wrapped with multiple layers of plastic wrap. It could have floated here across the ocean and the prints would not have gotten wet!
Seven of the eight prints were acceptable when looking at the front. One had abrasions across the print where the ink was scratched off. Several of the picture hangers on the backs of the prints were screwed on crooked and one picture hanger was smashed in at the top.
Because I am the artist who created the original painting that I ordered the prints of, I have the correct colors of paint to fix the one damaged print so I can send it on to my family. Under no circumstances do I want to ask for another print to replace the damaged one. They might send this one to the moon!
If you want some excitement and adventure in your life, then go ahead and place an order with Canvas Champ. They are sure to get your Adrenalin pumping and your blood pressure up. However if you just want some prints on canvas then I suggest you go somewhere else. There are lots of sites online to choose from.

December 23, 2016 at 6:24 pmUgh. That is just NOT good, Montana! Sorry you had to deal with all of that. Yeah, they definitely would never be someone I go to first for canvases, that’s for sure. There are a lot of other really great companies out there! I’m glad you at least got you canvases before Christmas. What an adventure for sure! Man oh man! Sending you hugs and hoping you have a Merry Christmas!! Thanks for leaving your thoughts and experience!!

November 21, 2017 at 12:02 pmI’m in the middle of my own not-so-great experience with Canvas Champ. So I decided to Google “Canvas Champ Reviews” — after I’d already placed my order, of course. I came across a LOT of these blogs like yours where people were sent a free canvas to review. Thus my responding 3 years after you posted it. I’m slightly leery of any company that feels the need to do these sponsored reviews because their product and service should speak for themselves and not via “paid” reviews like this (yes I know they didn’t pay you or others with money). It also leaves me wondering if your average Joe would get anything close to the same kind of customer service response had a negative review on a well-traveled blog not been the instigator. But I digress…
I haven’t even gotten my canvases from Canvas Champ yet, but I can’t say I would recommend them to anyone. We’re working on a wall in our dining room and wanted to add a couple canvases from our wedding before we have a bunch of company over for Thanksgiving. I placed my order based on a couple factors. One, their “Contact” page says they are based in Greer, SC with an operation facility in Lawrenceville, GA. I live near Augusta, GA, so both of those places are basically a one day ship away from me. Two, they claim that your order is produced 24-48 hours after approval and shipping takes 3-12 days depending on what method you choose. My order sat in the “processing” stage for a solid week. No big deal since it should only take a day or two to get to me from SC or GA, right? Once my order was finally printed and shipped, I got a DHL tracking number. This is red flag number one because DHL mainly handles international shipping now. After waiting a couple more days for the tracking to show anything, I see it has been picked up in Ahmedabad, INDIA on November 16th — 12 days after ordering, if you’re keeping score at home. As I type this, now 5 days after it shipped, they’re sitting somewhere in Ohio still with no estimated delivery date available whatsoever. Worse is DHL requires signature since it’s an international shipment, so the chances of anyone being home on a work day are slim to none. I could’ve ordered these from a vendor I do many printed products with in my design and photography biz, based in the US and printed here, too. Would’ve cost me about $5 more for the product, but double the shipping because they ship individually. I would’ve had them within a week or ordering. At this point it doesn’t matter how awesome or not these canvases turn out; I can’t recommend Canvas Champ to anyone.

December 22, 2017 at 4:54 pmI placed an order to be shipped to my customer with this company. My customer was very happy with it. On 12/12/17 she ordered three more so I ordered three 16×20 canvas like I did before. Delivery is due January 1st 2018 however today is December 22 2017 and we only have four working days left in 2017 and they have not sent me a proof as of yet. There is no way they can make delivery and from the reviews I have seen on this company, they need to be stopped from doing business in this country.
