November is Diabetes Awareness Month and throughout the month I will be posting some information about Type 1 diabetes and also some glimpses into our lives as we manage our daughter’s diabetes. I thought this month would also be a great time to do something to give back and so I talked with Caylin and we both agreed that it would be so much fun to have a fundraiser this month to raise enough money to purchase TEN Jerry the Bears and donate them to a Summer Diabetes Camp so that hundreds of children can learn from them and enjoy them every year. So that’s exactly what we’ve set out to do! Ten Jerry’s cost $2799 and so we’re wanting to raise AT LEAST that much to purchase the bears and so we need your help!
You might remember last year when Caylin sold some of her original artwork to raise money to purchase her own Jerry the Bear. Well, she loves him and we love the folks at Sproutel, who created Jerry, and would love to give back this way and provide these for some children to enjoy! You can read and see more about Jerry HERE.
So, here’s how you can help:
From now until the end of the month, for every $5 dollars that you donate to our fundraiser your name will be entered to win an awesome prize. I have SO many wonderful people and companies who have generously and graciously donated wonderful items for our fundraiser.
Here’s a list of the super kind and generous people and companies that have donated and what you can win:

If we reach our goal and surpass it, Caylin and I would love to do more as well!
Here’s how you donate and enter:
You can send your donation two ways.
1) Go HERE to our Go Fund Me page to donate
For every $5 you donate, your name will be entered into the drawing to win one of the above prizes. The more you donate, the more chances you have of winning. For instance – if you donate $25, you get FIVE entries into the drawing. If you donate $100 you get TWENTY entries. I will be writing out everyone’s names on tickets and letting Caylin draw the winners for each prize.
2) You can mail a check. Just put “Caylin’s Cure Fundraiser” in the subject line and email me for the address to mail it to.
We will be accepting donations until the end of the month.
Another way you can help is by spreading the word. If you could do a blog post, post on your social media, share with your family and friends, etc., that would be wonderful. We’d love to hit our goal!
Caylin and I BOTH thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for doing what you can. If nothing else, please pray for our little fundraiser and for all of those who deal with Type 1 diabetes every day.
Thank you! Please let me know if you have any questions and please support the above companies and people above who so generously gave without hesitation.
- If you have a product/prize that you’d like to donate – please email me at kristinaproffitt(at)one-happy-mama(dot)com.
