I’m so happy to update you all on our Caylin’s Cure Jerry the Bear fundraiser that Caylin and I did last month to celebrate Diabetes Awareness Month and to give back! While we didn’t reach our goal of $2799 for 10 bears, we did raise half of the money needed and so we were able to purchase 5 bears! We are so excited to donate these bears and see the kids’ faces light up as they play with Jerry, interact with him and learn with him. So THANK YOU to everyone who donated, spread the word about our fundraiser, shared it, prayed about it, etc. We can’t thank you enough. Our hearts are full. :)
This past weekend I placed every donor’s name on a ticket for every $5 that they donated and put them all in a bucket (you can see the little video on Instagram if you haven’t ready). Caylin drew the prize winners and I’m excited to announce them below. I will be sending out emails to you all in the next day or two to get your shipping addresses and get you all set up to receive your prizes. Thank you again for opening up your heart and your wallet and helping Caylin and I do this. We are SO grateful. These Jerry the Bears are going to do SO much good and you had a hand in that!
Caylin and I are going to be donating all 5 bears to the Child Life department at the Vanderbilt Eskind Diabetes Clinic (where Caylin goes). There the bears are going to be used to help newly diagnosed children. The Child Life department also puts on Camp Sugar Falls, which is a day-camp experience for children ages 6-12 who have been diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. We are THRILLED to be able to give the bears to the wonderful folks at Vanderbilt to help so many children. THANK YOU!
