You ever take a simple snapshot and then look at it later and it bring you to tears? Yeah, I’m glad I’m not alone. That’s what this photo did to me the other day. I radomnly snapped it with my iPhone one day when my two sons were playing so sweetly out on our back porch. Then when I went to print it out the other day, it moved me SO much. This sweet, simple little photograph. My kids are growing up WAY too fast (I’m sure you can relate) and seeing them grow and learn from one another and the big brother helping the little brother, well, it made my heart burst folks. So I whipped out some of the embellishments from Freckled Fawn’s October embellishment kit and made this little layout about it.
I had already used the kit to create another layout (you can see it HERE) and had plenty leftover to use on this layout. I love how simple it all came together.
I printed the photo out 3×4 and then placed one of the coordinating cards for the kit next to it, but down a bit further to give some space above it to add the “love today” rubber embellishment piece.
Then I added a little heart and smiley face from a previous Freckled Fawn kit to it. Those embellishments are some of my favorites. ;)
I used the sweet “love” flair button on the photo and also added the “I will always remember this moment” sticker directly onto the photo. I love how it’s pointing to my sons. :)
I stamped the date below the photo, added the “love this” sticker and wrote a smidge of journaling on the bottom of the 3×4 card.
I also included a sticker from a previous kit that says “just an ordinary day” on it, right above the photograph. I felt like it needed a bit of something and I loved the typewriter font.
Lastly, I added the “this” from a previous kit onto the card and the wooden arrow from this month’s kit, too. I then used one of the cork hearts from a previous kit as well.
One of my most favorite things about memory keeping are those sweet, simple, every day moments that we capture and that take our breath away. They remind us how fleeting life is, but also how amazing and blessed it is, too.
