Ok, so I know it’s almost January and I did this project back in October, but y’all – it’s done. Finally. Ha! I loved the way it turned out and it really was a very simple project, I just kept putting it on the back burner, but I’m glad I took the time this weekend to finish it. This is my third time doing Day in the Life and I just loved it once again. You can see the other times I did this project back in HERE and HERE.
This time I documented the day, October 27th and on that day we were just wrapping up our Gatlinburg family vacation and was traveling back home so it wasn’t the most interesting day, but still loved documenting it. I decided to use the same DESIGN F page protectors as I did for the last DITL that I did in July. I really loved that format and so I figured it would be a great way to continue to document it. I used Ali’s DITL mini kit. I also used a few other goodies that I had on hand.
I used one of the 4×6 cards on the front of my page to document a bit about the day. I also used some of my favorite Freckled Fawn chipboard pieces as well. I added the “adventure” to the top of the title of the journaling card since we were traveling back from our little family adventure in the Smokies. I also used more of the chipboard phrase pieces throughout the project as you’ll see.
I wanted to include the time stamp for each of the photos as well – I decided to also just take one photo every hour at some point and document it that way (again, just like I did back in July). I just set the timer on my phone for every hour and then either snapped a photo or snoozed it a few times that hour and snapped one when I was able to. It worked out just great and was a nice reminder throughout the day to document it!I totally didn’t think about HOW I was going to add the time to each of my photos and since I had already edited them, printed them out and trimmed them to size I decided to just use some small Avery address labels that I had and stamp on those. I just stamped the date on them, cut out around the time and stuck it on the outside of the page protector. I used Ali’s great time roller stamp to stamp the time. That stamp is a MUST-HAVE. Love it! I also used the round die cuts from the mini kit and stapled them to random photographs as well throughout the project.
Here’s a shot of the back of the project. I just continued with the photos, added a filler 4×6 card and then added a couple of 3×4 journaling cards to add a bit more about the day.
I used the “right now” stamp from the stamp set in the kit to add to the top of one of the 3×4 cards as well. Totally kept it all super simple.
The thing I love most about documenting a day in my life is that I always end up capturing something I totally would have missed otherwise and there’s always at least one photo that stands out to me. That photo this time is the one above of me and my sons. If you haven’t documented this way, I highly recommend it. It’s neat to see a glimpse of your every day life. It’s a great reminder that life of full of so many small, every day moments and it’s a good, good life.
