Ok, friends! I’m sharing the rest of my December Daily album with you all today. You can see parts 1 and 2 HERE and HERE.
Let’s start where I left off at Day 18.
Ok, so the back of the trimmed down 6×8 page protector has a little 3×4 card about how we decided to keep our Christmas simple and laid back this year. We stayed home, didn’t travel and it just shares my heart about that a bit.
Then I added another really pretty plastic divider.
Day 19 is about some of our favorite ornaments as a family. I just simply printed this photo out – like 5×6, I think, and then on the back I added a piece of yellow cardstock that had the journaling typed up on it. I also added the Avery tab to it as well.
Day 20 is just simply 2 4×6 photos of our annual neighborhood drive around to look at Christmas lights! ;)
For Day 21 I used a template by my sweet friend, Tracy and filled it with silly photos that my kids and I did under the Christmas tree. We’ve declared it our NEW tradition and well, I of course had to document it! ;)
Day 22 I printed out the photo of Luke near the tree 6×8 and then just added some simple embellishments to it.
On the back I copied a post that I did on Instagram about the photo and my thoughts. Then I just simply added a couple of embellishments.
Day 23 is about the little light-up Christmas tree that my husband gave to me a few years ago.
Day 24 shows some of our Christmas cards. I honestly was a bit stuck as to what story to tell here! Ha, so I snapped a photo of our cards, stuck it in the page protector and called it a day, friends. LOL!
For the last day I documented, I loved this large 6×8 sheet of patterned paper with the gold-foiled 25 on it and so I slipped it in the page protector.
For the back I put in another patterned paper (I love red diagonal stripes) and then added the round messy circle embellishment to the center. Told y’all that I kept it super simple. This does NOT have to be complicated to get your memories down.
I also took one of the tags in the main kit, punched some holes in it and added a chipboard circle to the top.
On the back I wrote down just a couple of things the kids got as a little reminder.I added another round chipboard piece to the back to keep it consistent.
Then I included a 3×4 photo of each of my kids with one of their favorite things from Christmas morning. Loved the way it turned out! Slipped in the 25 card and embellished it with a chipboard piece, too. Added the little “joy” chipboard to Luke’s photo because he just exudes joy, that kid. He really loved that Batman. ;)
The back of this has some more photos from Christmas morning.
Then I used one 6×8 page protector with all of the 2×2 photo squares and added photos of our elf Henry’s shenanigans. ;) Worked perfectly.
Here’s the back. ;)
Lastly, I used the “remember” pocket divider to just slip in our Christmas card.
Oh, and then on the back inside of the album I adhered the “Happy Christmas.” I thought that was fitting. ;)
And there you have it, friends! My first December Daily!
There are a couple of things I will do differently next year:
• I honestly didn’t like numbering my stories after awhile because I felt so much pressure toward the end to have something to tell and to get 25 stories into the album. Next year I’m NOT going to number them – just add stories throughout the month and document it all along the way. I think that’ll take that small bit of pressure off and that’s a good thing.
• I loved the main kit and also loved pulling embellishments out from past kits and other things to use in it. What I definitely need to do next year as well is be more organized in the beginning. November was SUPER busy for me and I just didn’t get to it that much. I had the front page done and intention page done, but didn’t have my supplies organized very well or any pages prepped. Gonna try to be more organized next year and I bet it’ll go even smoother and it wasn’t that bad at all this year – just need to tweak a few things with my process.
Overall I am so glad that I took the time to document the stories and memories from this month and look forward to completing another one next year. Bring on January!
