I am always on the lookout for really great kid books. In fact, it’s a bit of an obsession of mine – I just LOVE a well-designed, well-written kids book. I just do. Adding another great book to my kids’ bookshelf just makes me super giddy. I can’t help it. Anyone else that way? Hoping I’m not alone in this, but I don’t think I am. ;) If you’re like me then you are going to want to for sure check out the awesome books from Wee Society that I recently received to review. Although it is a super new to me company (SO happy I stumbled upon them!), Wee Society has been around since 2010 and they have all sorts of fun products like apps, books, prints and more! The folks at Wee Society are SO creative and cool. Their designs make ME want to snag these from my kids and add them to my book collection.
The illustrations in all of these books are so cool, bright and fun! They’re also very simple, yet eye-catching! The first book that I wanted to show y’all is called, “An Incomplete Book of Awesome Things.” Y’all, this book is just so cute! It’s a board book, so it’s thick, sturdy and durable (which is a GOOD thing, especially with toddlers) and the illustrations in the book made my design-lovin’ heart all a-flutter.
Luke loved this book! He kept turning the pages and shouting out what was on them and giggling! I love how Wee Society made a book like this because it’s so unique. This book is basically listing awesome things, but not your normal everyday awesome things that get a lot of attention. It’s OTHER awesome things that are usually overlooked like elbows, argyle, confetti and more! The book is great because it can really get your kids talking, using their imagination and also share what THEY think is awesome and what they think is NOT awesome. It’s fun!
I totally think Pluto is still awesome even though they don’t classify it as a planet anymore – only a dwarf planet. Pluto will always be a regular planet to me and awesome! Ha! ;)
Love how they included tacos as being awesome! Um, yes!!!
Confetti is definitely on my awesome list, although it’s NOT awesome to clean up. ;)
Hahaha, this was totally funny! Love how Wee Society included such random, not-often-mentioned awesome things! So quirky and fun!
At the end of the book, there’s a bunch of pictures and you can have a conversation with your child about if it’s awesome or NOT awesome. It’s just a great way to allow your child to use their imagination and to open up fun conversations with your child to get them thinking and conversing more.
The next product from Wee Society that I got to take a look at is the The Wee Alphas A to Z postcards. These are based off of their award-winning Wee Alpha app.
I love the unique and whimsical illustrations of the cards (can you see the animals in each letter?) and how you can tear off each one (they’re in the package folded accordion style). Your child can even send the postcard to a friend! There are little writing prompts on the back to help your child fill out the postcard (and it’s super cute!) or you could even display these cards in a child’s bedroom or homeschool room. It’s a great way to learn the alphabet and each of the animals has a super cute name like Biki the Buffalo, Finneagan the Fox and Ollie the Owl. Just one more way Wee Soceity keeps it all unique and fun!
I love all of the really cute touches that Wee Society gives their products. This “Oh, hi” on the tab of the box packaging is just one example of that. Little touches like that honestly makes me love a company even more because they’ve taken the time to be silly, creative and fun! Love how they think outside of the box and offer our kids some really neat products that allow them to use their imaginations.
The last book that I got to review is the book, “Me. A Compendium.” This book had the scrapbooker in me SO excited!
You can take the cover off of the book and your child can write their name AND draw their face. LOVE!
Not only that, but the inside of the book cover even has great questions that your child can answer and I’m telling you – they are SO creative and fun! Wee Society used every single inch of the book to capture your child’s imagination and creativity.
I’m SO excited to give this book to my middle son, Jack – probably later this year. I think that is when he will REALLY be able to fill it up with bits of amazing nuggets and insight into who he is and who he is becoming. I’ll have to share more of it then! ;) Being a life documenter and avid scrapbooker – I just love how this book not only is super cute and well-designed, but I love how it’s basically a journal that your child can fill out themselves (um, hello cute drawings and handwriting) and you get a sweet piece of who your child is at a certain age. What a sweet keepsake! It’s a genius idea and a super cute book and I think I might need one for each kid. Yep, I do. This would be great to give a child as a gift! I know all of us Mamas would love to have the end result as a great keepsake, too! ;)
I love all of the icons on the front and back inside cover, too! See! Every inch of this book was designed to perfection!
Here are a few pages from the book to give you an idea of some of the really cute and original questions the book asks:
I really wish I had a book like this to fill out when I was younger. I would have loved to look back my answers, drawings and handwriting. How cool would that be? What a cool idea for a book and what a neat biography of your child that you can hold onto forever! All three of these products are seriously SO fun and creative!
Wee Society thinks that uncontrollable giggles make the world better and I totally have to agree. You know what else makes the world better? Awesome companies like Wee Society that spark our children’s imaginations and allow them to think outside of the box and see just how RAD they are. Mission accomplished, Wee Society!
