Happy Friday, sweet friends!
I wanted to share the sweet and simple way that I documented my Lucky Lukie’s 4th birthday last week. I used so many goodies from Elle’s Studio – I can’t recommend their products enough! SO much fun to use and super cute always, too!
You might have seen my Instagram Stories that I posted sharing a bit of my process and also some sneaks of this, but if not, what I usually do is pick a different page protector when I’m documenting my kids’ birthdays or other special occasions or trips. I like it to stand out a bit in the Project Life album and I love how simply choosing a different page protector can do that.
So, for Luke’s birthday documentation, I chose a DESIGN J page protector from Becky Higgins and then also used one of the 6×12 envelope pages from Becky Higgins, too. This was my first time using these and I have to say that I LOVE THEM. They are SO perfect for all of that cute birthday memorabilia that you want to tuck away and they didn’t make my album extra bulky at all! I’m glad I have more of them since we have MORE birthdays coming up in the next few months.
Here’s a shot of all of the things IN my album. As you can see – I’m still working away on getting caught up with this year’s Project Life. ;)
So for this front page of the protector, I used some Elle’s Studio die cuts and a card and then simply printed out my photos and slipped them in. The large black 4 chipboard is from Ali Edwards back in the day, I believe.
I took one of the Elle’s Studio die cuts and then stapled it onto the front of one of the 3×4 cards from this month. Love having that little spot to write down some of the info. As you can see, I love using my tiny attacher and stapling just about everything. ;)
Here’s a shot of the back. I used more Elle’s Studio die cuts and then some of the puffy stickers, too! So much fun and the boldness of the colors and the pop of black were perfect!
Here’s what the front of the 6×12 pocket envelope looked like! I slipped in a 3×4 card from Elle’s Studio, used these stamps from Elle’s Studio as well (they are SO much fun and SO versatile) and then included the little “Luke” talk bubble that we put in the top cupcake. I handwrote the rest.
Inside the envelope I included some birthday cards, a napkin from his party decorations and then a couple of hand-drawn things that Caylin did for Luke that were just TOO adorable to part with.
I also love to include some larger photos that I snap of the kids ON their birthday. So I printed out two large photos that I took of Luke and slipped them into this 6×8 page protector that I had.
I used a couple more Elle’s Studio die cuts to add just a simple touch to the front of the photo.
And so there you have it – Luke’s birthday already documented and in the album and it’s only been a week! I actually finished this like 3 days AFTER his birthday and so that might be a record for me. Having the page protector picked out really helped me reduce the indecisiveness that I can have trying to pick and choose the photos to use (I did NOT use every photo I snapped) and then having a monthly subscription to Elle’s Studio and having all of those coordinating goodies – really pulls it altogether and just helps make it all come together so easily and in such a cute way. Not to mention – I have a bunch of goodies left to use on other projects!
If you have any questions at all, let me know!
Have a great weekend ahead, friends! XO!
