I’m a little late in sharing these photos (this week has been SUPER busy), but I wanted to get my photos + words here on my good ol’ blog. This project, once again, has been so fulfilling to me. It’s Friday so today is the 5th day and I do find myself slowing down a bit, but it’s totally ok. I do this EVERY time and so I’m not worried and I keep going because I know just how much I treasure the end project. It’s worth it.

MONDAY 6:48 am | Marlie is always up bright and early nowadays, but I can’t complain because she sleeps a solid 9-10 hours every night. I’ve always been a morning person, but in the past little bit since moving to the Eastern time zone, I had gotten out of the habit of waking up earlier and I wanted to get back to it. The transition wasn’t easy at first, but now I love it. I get to see the sunrise, have time to read and am able to get a workout in before I officially start the day. Thankful for this silly pup that gave me the gift of peaceful, quiet, slow mornings again.
MONDAY 8:15 am | Got my workout in before the rest of the house wakes up. I thought I’d see if Marlie could hang with me while I did my workout, but nope. She kept trying to attack my feet and barked so loud I thought she’d wake everyone up, so into her crate she went. I can’t keep making excuses. Having a puppy can’t get in the way of self-care.
MONDAY 9:12 am | Smoothie.
MONDAY 9:02 am | Luke loves to sit on top of the kitchen counter nowadays. I think it’s the cutest. He loves to help me make meals and it also prevents Marlie from licking him nonstop or nipping at his feet. Ha! Smart boy. Today he had one of the raspberry fig bars that he loves while I made a smoothie. He always gets a little smoothie, too.
MONDAY 9:53 am | Supplements down the hatch.
MONDAY 9:54 am | All things breakfast is done so it’s time to sit at my desk and get to work for a bit.
I put Marlie in her playpen next to my desk and this is her favorite way to sleep. Of course she has the fan blowing on her, too. She’s such a diva. ? I’m just glad to be able to get some work in before school and all things “Mama” start.
MONDAY 10:31 am | Jack made Luke a “Best Brother of 2019” award out of Legos. It was the sweetest thing. Luke was so excited to get it and Jack was so proud of what he made – yes that is Sharpie that he wrote on his Legos with. Sigh. These boys. The best of friends and just the sweetest. Praying it always stays that way.
MONDAY 11:22 am | This is where you’ll find Caylin most of the day. At her desk, listening to iTunes on her iPad and doing art or school work. I love seeing her be a teenager and practicing her art. Oh, and we totally had a gigglefest as I laid on her floor to snap this photo of her at a different angle. I do what I have to do and thankful she puts up with me and makes me laugh.
MONDAY 12:29 pm | I love the fact that Michael works from home and he can always check in with us, eat lunch with us and just say HI to us throughout the day. Him and the boys take a football break everyday where they whip out this small, soft orange football and pass it back and forth in our bedroom. I love hearing the laughter that comes from the room when they do that. Thankful for our blessings.
MONDAY 12:47 pm | Luke and I took a walk to the mailbox. It’s beautiful out today – Iike THE perfect weather – and he is my walking to the mailbox buddy. Along the way we chatted about how our eyes were watering because of how bright the sun was, looked at some ant hills and found a snail. He loves to race me back and I always let him win.
MONDAY 1:22 pm | Marlie decided to lay down next to the couch and so we both took a nap for an hour today. I hit a wall and felt super tired and so I went with it. Felt good. Thankful for my little buddy + shadow, oh and a nice nap.
MONDAY 2:48 pm | Snack.
MONDAY 3:15 pm | Marlie just about ate the ear of her puppy squeaky toy. Glad Michael peeked in on her. RIP squeaky puppy – literally.
MONDAY 4:19 pm | This is the scene in the afternoon nowadays. The kids love to do their math on the floor of my office.
MONDAY 5:06 pm | Went to the farm and garden store with Luke to pick up Caylin’s Breyer horse that came in. The sweetest little old lady came up to Luke and said the kind of things. She said she loved his bright blue eyes and she could totally spoil him. It was a sweet exchange. She reminded me how fast kids grow and I agreed.
MONDAY 5:37 pm | Picked up one of our favorites tonight – Barberitos. Soooo good. I get the spinach tortilla wrapped burrito with rice, chicken, lettuce, pico and light chipotle ranch. Michael gets the chipotle tortilla wrapped burrito with rice, light pinto beans, steak, cheese, extra lettuce and light chipotle ranch and the kids get a soft taco on flour with chicken, lettuce and light chipotle ranch. We always get three extra sides of the chipotle ranch sauce as well so we can dip our chips in it. Yummmmmmm.
MONDAY 7:39 pm | Today’s weather was absolutely PERFECT. We made sure to get out and enjoy it … a lot.
