Hey friends!
Well, December isn’t even over with yet and I’m so excited to have wrapped up my December Daily® already! When it comes to December Daily® , I think I should really be calling mine, December Stories, because that’s what I have done in my album the past few years. I just tell stories as I go throughout the month and stop on the 25th. This year was no different and I really love the way it turned out. Our December has been a bit different, all of us are feeling it, but I still ended up creating a really sweet album that I know my family and I will cherish.
Did December fly by in the blink of an eye for anyone else? Sigh.
Anyway, here is my album! I hope you enjoy it! Thanks so much for stopping by and checking it out!
I just love this beautiful album. All of my other December Daily albums are red so I was unsure of it at first, but so glad I went with it. It’s gorgeous.
I decided to put a little bit of embellishment on the inside front cover and then also add a star transparency with one of the puffy circle embellishments to open up the album.
I always do a “reason why” page and so I was sure to include one in this album, too.
I always love including our Christmas card if we do one and this year we did! It has been a couple of years and so it was nice to have one to put in the album this year. I simply adhered it to a piece of patterned paper from the main kit.
December did NOT start out like we had hoped. The kids and I were dealing with a pretty bad cold, so I made sure to document that because it’s important to keep it real and also document the hard stuff, too.
I decided to play with my Silhouette a bit (I’m a bit obsessed with it now, LOL) and remembered that I had purchased a super cute envelope template. I used that to create these little envelopes to hold some small pictures of some ornaments that I wanted to talk about. I simply adhered the envelopes to the tag, slipped the small photos inside and then secured them each with a small piece of washi tape.
On the back of the tag, I printed out some journaling about the ornaments and embellished it a bit.
I always love to include different sized photos in my mini albums. So I put two 4×6 photos in it (along with tabs for easy turning) and then included the story about the elf sweater on the front of the 3×8 journaling sheet that you’ll see a bit below.
On the back of the 3×8 journaling sheet, I included the story of the big purple dragon.
I cut the joy out with my Silhouette and adhered it directly onto this photo that I loved.
Was sure to include some of the smaller stories about the music that brings back memories and also the treats, too.
Another one of those, not so fun, stories to tell.
I always love to include some holiday kid art, too! Makes me smile SO big!!
I also love including different ephemera and textures to my albums and so when we got donuts, I had to keep the super cute kraft bag! Ha! I cut it up and stuck it on in!
I decided to adhere a tag and then staple a ticket from the event we went to. Super simple.
Christmas crafts are just the best, aren’t they?
I didn’t have that many photos from the Christmas light show that we went to and so I just simply cut up a page protector so that I only had a 3×4 front + back. Put a tab on it, a couple of embellishments and called it done! Did do a whole page of journaling about it so I feel that’s good!
This Christmas, I made my Mom + Dad the sweetest books that I filled out and found on Amazon. I wanted to be super intentional about the gift that I got them and when I got back these sweet texts from them, I knew I made them the right thing. The gifts had the exact effect that I had hoped. Really one of my favorite December memories this year.
All this Mama wanted for Christmas was for some cute Christmas PJ photos! Ha! Yay! Granted, the teenager grew out of the pjs before she even wore them, but that’s ok! I loved putting this beautiful transparency on top of it, too!
I used my Silhouette once again (told ya, I am a bit obsessed!) to cut out this great wonky circle sheet that someone in the December Daily FB group shared! I loved it! I printed it out on white cardstock and then trimmed down another transparency and adhered it behind it. Then I put all of our Henry the Elf photos in the 2×2 page protector again (I’ve done this for a few years and just love seeing them altogether like that).
The first envelope has the sweet letter that Henry wrote to the kids (he retired this year, sigh) and the second envelope has all of the Christmas cards we got this year.
The last thing I did was adhere the large #2 and #5 to the back inside cover. I put a cork heart in the middle and then put a “remember” phrase sticker on top. Simple and done.
Once again I just love how this project comes together so sweetly and simply. My sweet friend Courtney and I were each other’s accountability partners during this process and that made it even more fun. I love seeing what she created and the stories + photos that she took and it was so much fun showing her what I had done. I highly recommend having a scrapbooking friend do this with you!
Well, there ya go, friends. Another December Stories mini album in the books! I hope you and your family are having THE BEST December.
I’m ready for 2020. Praying your New Year is full of blessings! Here’s to documenting another year! XO!
