Hey friends! Well, here’s Day 4 and the photos that I took for the prompt, eyes closed. I will say that this prompt was hard for me. I wanted to keep each photo natural and so just thinking about the ways and times I close my eyes was a challenge, but I’m happy with the result. These prompts have gotten harder as the days have gone on, but I’m thankful to still be doing it.
What do I see when I look at this picture? I see a Mama with bags under her eyes from countless nights being up and worried about her daughter’s blood sugar. I see hair that gets darker and darker with every passing year. I see that same grey sweater that I am wearing non-stop nowadays. It even has a bit of watercolor on the sleeve. I see the sign behind me reminding me to work hard as I sit at my desk and do what I love every day. I see a woman taking a moment to say a little prayer and get ready for the day. I see a smile of gratitude because I am able to work from home, be with my family and do what I love. I see someone getting older, but with each passing day being even more grateful for the next. Eyes closed + heart wide open. Let’s do this Thursday.
I could hug and kiss on my sweet Luke all day long. I can’t believe he’s my last little one and he’s just the sweetest! He actually told me that when I hug him big that I close my eyes and don’t want to let go and so I knew it would be the perfect photo to capture today. Thanks, Lukie! Such a great idea and such a sweet photo of the two of us. One I know I’ll always cherish.
Today was a long day, but then again it flew by. Not sure how that happens or why days can feel that way, but today was one of those days. I’m not enjoying the dreariness that has been the month of February so far, but thinking about the sun shining tomorrow is making me happy and when I close my eyes, I can almost feel it on my face. I’m so ready for Spring. Going to bed with a thankful and tired heart tonight.
This is day four – eyes closed.
