It’s the weekend! Here are my Saturday photos + words, friends. I will have to say that I woke up on Saturday morning after not sleeping that great and having some sinus/ear issues and was worried about how I would document and what I would document. I didn’t have the energy, motivation or inspiration, really. So I just did my best and here’s what I came up with. Not that much, but still good and I’m ok with it. I had to give myself a bit of grace yesterday and so I did. Sometimes ya just gotta do that.
SATURDAY 10:24am | Woke up this morning not well-rested at all because of a cruddy night’s sleep due to allergies and sinus pressure. My left ear was feeling very “heavy” as well and so the first thing I did was reach for my Tea Tree oil and a cotton ball. Thankful for these natural remedies to help feel better.
SATURDAY 11:19am | Moving a bit slower today (boy I’m tired), but of course Marlie still wanted to play. Her toy of choice this morning – her strawberry. She’s an excellent catcher! Love how playful she is, but this Mama needs a nap already.
SATURDAY: 11:52am | Lots of commotion coming from the boys’ room. Turns out they were playing on the bunkbed with their Army guys. They’ve been doing that a lot lately. Thankful for their imagination and them playing together although there has been more bickering lately, so there’s that.
SATURDAY 12:24pm | Super excited about getting this book in the mail!
SATURDAY 1:43pm | Naptime with blankie.
SATURDAY 2:30pm | On Caylin’s floor.
SATURDAY 2:32pm | On Caylin’s nightstand.
SATURDAY 3:42pm | Caught the kitchen dishtowel thief in the act.
SATURDAY 4:53PM | Jack wanted to try the new kombucha and so I gave him a little of it. He loved it, but it definitely had a kick! Then he proceeded to show me the marble that he put in some clay and called his “amulet.”
SATURDAY 4:54pm | Michael is bouncing Luke up and down on his leg while he giggles and I’m making dinner in the kitchen. Thankful for a slow, easy day.
SATURDAY 6:03pm | Tried to take a nap on the loveseat. It’s not the most comfortable and so after about 10 minutes, I called it quits and came upstairs. Tonight is going to be an early to bed night for me, I think.
SATURDAY 7:22pm | You just never know what kind of outfit Luke will have on when you see him. Tonight it he was all decked out in jeans, his backpack, dino winter hat and shades.
SATURDAY 7:46pm | Jack decided to use his nerf bullet holder like a harmonica to serenade Marlie at my office door. Fun times.
SATURDAY 9:39pm | Caylin needed a new insulin pump site tonight. We are changing these every 3-4 days now. She seems to be going through the insulin so fast because she’s growing so much and needing so much more. Sometimes as I’m doing this site changes my mind races to thoughts of worry about how she is going to manage this disease without me. Will she be able to do these completely by herself? Who will look out for her? The fear and worry paralyzes me sometimes, but I know she’s capable and responsible enough, it’s just one hard aspect of this disease.
And that’s Saturday. One more day of documenting, friends. Thankful for these days and for you being here.
