And there we have it – the week long documentation is over, friends! Wow, what a fast and great week it was! So thankful to have done it again for the sixth time and I can’t wait to put it altogether in my album. Here are the words + photos for Sunday.
SUNDAY 10:02am | Up around 10 and Luke is normally the first one up on the weekends. I always can find him in is room, usually playing on the floor or playing his iPad waiting for everyone else to wake up. Now he opens up his blinds and this morning he even got his two little black bears (Blackie and Beary) hanging out with him, too.
SUNDAY 10:31am | The first thing that Marlie does as she bolts out of her crate in the morning is grab her puppy and take off. She runs around the kitchen a few times and finally stops by the backdoor to go out.
SUNDAY 10:05am | These shelves are my favorite. I am definitely not an expert shelf decorator (I honestly have no idea what I’m doing and just put stuff up), but all of the things that are scattered all over these shelves make me smile and remind me of so much goodness in my life. Colorful, happy, fun and the true focal point of my favorite room in my house.
SUNDAY 11:01am | Super late breakfast this morning. We sit around this table three times a day and it never gets old. Sure, there is an occasional grumpy teenager at the table sometimes, a frustrated, impatient Mom or Dad and little brothers who like to hum, not eat over their plates or talk with their mouth full of food, but there are also great stories, lots of laughs, awkward jokes and conversations and good food. Blessings, so many blessings around this table and during these times.
SUNDAY 12:41pm | Jack and Luke played Super Mario together, but Luke took some kind of power from Jack and they got into a big fight about it. Jack left and Luke was left playing on his own. That’s what normally happens nowadays. They love each other a lot, but bicker a lot lately, too.
SUNDAY 2:41pm | Afternoon date to Target. Michael snagged himself some baseball cards and I got a cute pair of jean shorts and 2 notebooks. I also picked up Caylin some fun, cheap socks with crazy animals on them.
SUNDAY 2:44pm | You better believe this notebook is going home with me.
SUNDAY 3:45pm | One of the things I picked up at Target today. It totally made me smile and it was yellow so it was a no-brainer. 90 cents of happiness.
SUNDAY 5:34pm | Caylin brought her sketchbook to the kitchen table to work on some drawings while I cooked dinner and the boys played with playdough and clay. We were also blasting the Zombies 2 soundtrack.
SUNDAY 5:45pm | Dinner tonight was spaghetti and meatballs. I’m trying to get back into the habit of having “Spaghetti Sunday.”
SUNDAY 6:03pm | Michael got some mowing done before dinner. It was pretty hot out today so I brought him some ice water to help cool him off. Thankful that he’s mowing the grass close to the house and where I walk Marlie so that the grass doesn’t get too high in between the time the mowers come to do the entire lot.
SUNDAY 6:37pm | One of Marlie’s favorite spots in the kitchen area is this wall. She lays right here a lot and as you can see, she is in desperate need of a haircut.
SUNDAY 6:54pm | The boys have been playing playdough + clay for the past 45 minutes. They both love to create with their hands and they come up with all sorts of creations. I love it, but usually find the stuff (especially the mad matter) all over my floor, which drives me nuts. Happy to let them play and be creative and they love to keep me company while I’m in the kitchen cooking or cleaning up.
SUNDAY 7:07pm | Sat on the screened in porch for a bit. Took in the sweet sounds of the birds chirping (my favorite) and felt the cool breeze. I love how Marlie will just sit and feel the breeze, too. It’s like she’s soaking it all in just like I am. It was a pretty warm day tonight, but it’s cooling down tonight and the perfect temperature to sit out here and enjoy the peace and quiet for a bit.
SUNDAY 9:48pm | Still doing our Revelation Bible study every night together. It’s one of my favorite times of the day. Learning so much and thankful for this time together.
SUNDAY 10:22pm | Lukie giving me that “look” as he’s brushing his teeth. We’re all worn out and ready for bed. In this photo I see his little “Luke” oil blend roller, the bowls and Army guys that he loves playing in the sink with and that Lushious Lemon soap that my kids are all currently obsessed with. Going to bed tonight feeling super grateful.
And just like that, a week’s worth of photos + stories are done, friends. Thank you for following along with me. It has been a great week – it flew by! I can’t wait to spend the next week or two printing out all of my photos and putting it altogether in an album. I will be sure to share my completed album here when it’s all done.
As always, be sure to check out Ali’s website HERE if you’re curious about learning more about Week in the Life and joining me next time! I love this project SO much! Hope you have a great week ahead! XO!
