Week in the Life™ 2018 | Saturday Words + Photos

This weekend has been a busy one and it has flown by. So thankful for the time I took to think about what I wanted to document this week and this weekend. Once again, I kept it simple, didn’t overtake photos and it felt great.

Here are my Saturday photos + words:

8:01am | Luke is a helper. He loves to help me with anything usually without even being asked. One of his favorite things to do is to put napkins on the table before we eat. This morning he moved his coaster and napkin so he could sit next to me.

8:13am | This is how Jack sits on the couch now when he watches TV. I keep telling him to sit up, that he’s going to hurt his neck, but then I check on him later and he’s back like this. Sigh. That boy, I tell ya.

8:39am | I remember when I was little I would watch cartoons on Saturday mornings. Nowadays our kids get a little bit of iPad time on Saturday mornings. This is how they always do it. Together.

12:01pm | Lunch. The lightning isn’t the best, I still love the shot it captured and I love the camera timer on my phone.

1:25pm | Somehow or another we all seem to congregate in Caylin’s room and this is what is going on in there now while Caylin rolls her eyes and asks us politely to get out.

3:04pm | These tulips smell sooooooo good!

3:32pm | Tug-of-war with Bella at Grandma & Grandpa’s House.

4:02pm | So thankful to be able to spend some time with my Mama today.

5:11pm | Luke is a big fan of chips, dip and rice. Grandpa told him he could take some queso home in his pockets and he wanted to!

6:35pm | Went shoe shopping tonight. Michael was trying to decide which one to get. I liked both and so did he, so he got both! I got a couple of pairs for myself for my trip next month!

8:53pm | About to put the kids to bed and these new little dinosaurs Jack got today are for sure going to end up under his pillow.

9:57pm | Today I learned of a great man’s passing and ever since, I haven’t been able to shake this sadness that I’m feeling. Gary Young, the founder and visionary behind Young Living, passed away peacefully with his loved ones close by today. The knowledge and passion that he possessed was extraordinary. It inspired me so much. Tonight, as I pulled out my oils and other Young Living products time and time again, I couldn’t help, but tear up and say a little, “thank you, Gary” each time for all that he has done. It might sound silly to some, but he was a kind and generous man and the legacy he has left will continue to touch and bless millions of lives. Once he said, “I don’t make products for a profit, I make them for a purpose” and I know that spirit of his will live on in one of the most amazing companies that I know. A sad day for sure, but so, so much good has come from one man’s life who was determined to make a difference and bring health, purpose and abundance to so many. He definitely made a difference in my life. Thanks, Gary.

And that, was Saturday.

XO!
