Hello friends!
Goodness, it’s been a bit quiet over here on the ol’ blog. I apologize.
The past couple of months have been both busy and hard. You know – just a lot of overwhelming Mama stuff along with the loss of my beloved buddy and dog, Maggie.
She passed away a little over a month ago and I’m still getting used to her not being there. She was ALWAYS there, friends. She was my shadow for close to 15 years. Congestive heart failure took her from us on September 17th. We had to make the difficult decision to end her suffering and well, it was just so hard. Sigh. I’m sure that many of you reading this have lost a pet and I’m sure that many of you reading this have suffered even greater losses. I am so sorry for your pain and suffering, friends.
Maggie was so special to me. She was my first “baby” and helped me through so much when I was younger.
We used a photo of Maggie to tell my parents that they were having Caylin. She was just an important part of our lives.
She was my shadow. Always.
So between losing her and just being so overwhelmed and busy with homeschooling, my oil business and normal wife & Mama stuff, my sweet blog took a backseat, but now I want to get back to writing on here. I’ve continued to take photos and post on Instagram and Facebook, but it took me a bit to come back here.
Thanks so much for your grace and understanding, friends.
Time to dig my heels back in, get back to scrapbooking (it’s been over a month since I’ve done any and I miss it) and carry on.
Life is still so very good and although she’s not right under my feet like she normally was – I know my Maggie girl is still there.
I miss her, but just like my Mom reminded me, “the thing about shadows is that they never go away.”
So very thankful for that.
